Hovander Homestead Park is a turn of the century homestead on the banks of the Nooksack River. Whatcom County maintains the historic homestead for public use and enjoyment.   


The Park includes the Farmhouse, Barn and animals, lookout tower, Tennant Lake Interpretive Center and award-winning Fragrance Garden.  


Please dress comfortably. Although August is the dry season rain is not out of the question.  There are full bathroom facilities close by.


After the ceremony there will be games, barbecue, and music.

Wedding and Reception

The wedding and reception will take place on Saturday, August 16th, 2008, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm at Hovander Homestead Park.

Hovander Park is located approximately 15 minutes north of Bellingham near the town of Ferndale.  


To reach the park take the Ferndale Exit (262) off Interstate 5, go west to the railroad underpass, immediately turn left and follow signs to the park.


The picnic shelter is located  south west of the parking lot and Farmhouse.
